Custom Hats: How to Design Your Own Cap (Ideas, Printing, Cost and Sizing)

A cap's front panel is roughly 10 cm wide by 5 cm tall, curved, with a seam down the middle on many styles. That means:

• Bold lines, high contrast. Thin lines and subtle gradients disappear on fabric at that size.
• Short text. One to three words. A sentence is unreadable from a metre away.
• Wide, not tall. Design in a landscape ratio so it fills the panel.

Sizing

Custom caps are one-size-fits-most with an adjustable strap, fitting roughly 55–62 cm head circumference, which covers most adults and teenagers. Children under about ten will find the crown too deep.
